Heavy Duty Mechanic (Mining) – 2025-089

Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking multiple Heavy Duty Mechanics from Mexico to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team #Mexico. This is a full-time position based at our McIlvenna Operating Bay site working either a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation. This position requires immediate relocation to Saskatchewan, Canada, with preference for relocation to Saskatoon, Prince Albert or Creighton.

As part of the Mechanical Team, the Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for executing mechanical maintenance activities and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment and maintaining compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and implement timely repairs.
  • Ensure the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Optimize maintenance processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and equipment malfunctions, developing effective solutions to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements to improve mechanical maintenance processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to obtain Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyperson or Red Seal certification.
    • Requires technical certification as well as approximately 7,200 hrs of experience, or
    • Candidates with sufficient years of experience may apply as ‘Trade Qualifiers’ to challenge the Journeyperson and/or Red Seal exam.
  • 5 yrs+ experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in a mining or heavy industry setting preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of mining equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and their implications for maintenance activities at mine sites.
  • Required language proficiency in English level 7 and up.

Important Information for Applicants from Mexico

  • This role is open exclusively to applicants residing in Mexico.
  • Candidates must be able to relocate to Canada upon approval of work visa approved (4-8 weeks).
  • Shortlisted candidates must be available for a final, in-person interview in Mexico City between October 28th-30th, 2025.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive hourly salary of $48.90/hr with the potential to earn an additional underground bonus range of $6.07 - $14.81/hr.

The McIlvenna Bay Project site is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position and the remote work environment, candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, which includes drug and alcohol testing, as a condition of employment.
