Job Description and Responsibilities 

Join Interpro Pipe and Steel's Regina team as a Journeyman Electrician and become an integral part of our dynamic team, ensuring the seamless operation of our facilities. In this hands-on role, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, contributing directly to our manufacturing excellence. 

  • Receive wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation and inspection work to be done

  • Analyze various drawings and wiring diagrams to locate and install circuits and equipment

  • Determine work procedures, materials or replacement needs by using the most logical approach to “trouble shooting” and repair work

  • Consider all safety precautions and the proper isolation of circuits to minimize interference to operations

  • Plan and perform work requiring a thorough working knowledge of electric principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of equipment

  • Locate source of any type of electrical equipment problems by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operation

  • Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts, or replaces faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution, and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc.

  • Installs conduit, fittings, switches, controls and fixtures and wires and connects all types of equipment as required for new installation or replacement of facilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and replace faulty electrical components in motors, generators, power distribution, and control panels

  • Assemble, test, and adjust equipment for safe and proper operation, including working on live circuits when necessary

  • Install and connect electrical components, including conduit, fittings, switches, and fixtures, for new installations or replacements

  • Perform splicing, reconnect panel boards and distribution feeders, and adjust new equipment for optimal performance

  • Working at heights, using fall arrest gear, and performing confined space entry as required

  • Operating AWP equipment, scissor lifts, forklifts, etc. and attending relevant training

 

Requirements 

  • Grade 12 or equivalent

  • Journeyperson Electrician License

  • Qualified Electrical Worker certification

  • At least 3 years’ experience in heavy industrial plant electrical maintenance, preferred

  • A minimum of 1 year troubleshooting experience with PLC / Automated Control, AC/DC controls and motor systems, preferred

  • Ability to read blueprints or schematic drawings

  • Understanding and coordination of Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures

  • Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems, preferred

  • Experience with overhead bridge crane, preferred

  • Experience in predictive / preventive maintenance, preferred

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical acumen

  • Adaptable and able to work both independently and in a team environment

Our team at Interpro Pipe & Steel in Regina, SK is ramping up our Tubular mill and will be hiring MANY key positions over the next 6 months!  

We are looking to fill the following positions:

Production Operators/Labourers - safely, productively and collaboratively performs a variety of duties such as material handling, operating equipment, cleaning and basic maintenance and site preparation, to support the operations of the finishing line, ensuring quality work.

Shift Supervisors - responsible for supervising a team of production employees delivering a premium pipe product to customers while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity in the tubular mill. This role coordinates pipe mill activity such as hydrostatic testing, repairing, processing, grinding, beveling and shipping of pipe. 

Journeyman Millwrights – responsible for repairing, troubleshooting and installing machinery and equipment using different tools and/or equipment. The ability to read repair documents, manuals, blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures is required.

Journey Welders – responsible for welding, brazing, and cutting various types of metal using gas and electric welding equipment.

Journeyman Electricians – responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, contributing directly to our manufacturing excellence.

Electrical Engineering Technicians – responsible for installing, repairing, constructing, adjusting, modifying and servicing all types of electronic equipment.

Quality Systems Specialists - responsible for maintaining the quality management systems, ensuring products released conform to applicable standards, reviewing and evaluating customer specifications, as well as managing internal and external quality system audits.

Product Specialists - responsible for scheduling and reviewing product tests, assessing surface quality checks, ensuring products released conform to applicable standards, and investigating quality problems.

Process Specialists - responsible for auditing/evaluating steelmaking, hot rolling, pipe making, and finishing processes from quality and technical perspectives, troubleshooting process defects, supplemental product inspections, designing chemistry and rolling practices, and reporting and improving on cost of poor quality.

HVAC Mechanic - work with a variety of equipment and tools, including heating and cooling units, ventilation systems, welding/brazing equipment, refrigerants, power and hand tools, air compressors, and more. You’ll take pride in ensuring our systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Reliability Engineer - identify and manage risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations, direct and provide leadership for an Asset Management Plan that will improve asset reliability and reduce the Total Cost of Ownership.
